Orlando Pirates Provide Injury Update on Lebitso
Orlando Pirates right-back, Thabiso Lebitso, is set for surgery after sustaining an injury over the weekend.
On Sunday, 28 April, Pirates took on Royal AM in a DStv Premiership match at Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. Seventeen minutes into the game, however, Lebitso was stretchered off.
After the game, the Bucs posted an update about Lebitso’s condition on their website.
“Just as Orlando Pirates celebrated a commanding 4-0 victory over Royal AM … on Sunday afternoon, the Buccaneers have suffered a significant setback with the injury to Thabiso Lebitso,” the statement reads.
“The Bucs medical team has revealed … that the 28-year-old right-back has suffered a broken collarbone, which requires surgical intervention.”
It’s unknown at this time how long Lebitso will remain on the shelf, although most medical experts state that it can take patients up to three months to recover completely from collarbone surgery.
Join us in wishing Thabiso Lebitso all the best and a speedy recovery!
